A native Idahoan, Steve attended the College of Idaho graduating summa cum laude with degrees in History, American Studies and English. Although Steve left Idaho for the foothills of Durham, North Carolina to attend Duke University on a history fellowship, he returned to the Gem State because of his love for the community and the opportunities Idaho presented.
Steve started his legal career as a prosecutor in Idaho's second largest county. As a prosecutor he tried major felony cases such as murder, mayhem, rape, robbery and burglary. In 1983, Steve left the prosecutor's office and entered into private practice in the Boise firm of Clemens, Cosho and Humphrey. In 1996, Steve teamed up with Rory Jones to form Jones Gledhill. Steve and Rory are still law partners today.
Steve is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Idaho, the United States District Courts of Idaho, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the Idaho State Bar Association and the American Bar Association with forum memberships in Construction and Tort/Insurance. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and enjoys the highest professional ranking available to lawyers. He is also a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (formerly known as American Academy of Trial Counsel), a membership selection which is based on evaluations of effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and superior ethical reputations.
